Job Description

We are rapidly expanding company committed to excellence in every project we undertake. We are seeking talented HSE Advisors with 3-5 years of experience working on our union sites to join us in shaping the future of safety practices within our organization.

What would you be doing?

  • Lead, and support the safety activities and initiatives undertaken within ClearWater.
  • Promote and ensure safety compliance in all areas of responsibility and actively resolve safety issues or concerns.
  • Reviewing accident/ incident reports for correctness and completeness.
  • Conduct periodic checks to assess compliance with ClearWater's HSE standards.
  • Evaluating inspection reports to identify unsatisfactory performance trends.
  • Preparing monthly safety performance statistics and circulating them to line management.
  • Issuing and circulating environmental/ safety literature to enhance and maintain awareness.
  • Support Field Injury reports and forward copies to the HSE Program Coordinator/ WCB Administrator in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor and support investigation reports, environmental incident reports, medical or first aid cases and reports of damage to property or equipment to verify that corrective action has been completed.
  • Ensure submissions and follow-ups are completed and documented within requested timeframes per company standards.
  • Complete with quality, all key performance indicators (KPIs) listed on the corporate KPI matrix and the area additions. Report and document as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Does this sound like you?

  • Must have First Aid, WHIMIS, and CSTS-2020.
  • Must have an OH&S or NCSO. 
  • 3-5 years in a safety advisor position or experience in a similar role.
  • Union Project experience is an asset.
  • Maintain safety KPIs for the project.
  • Must be able to advise groups of up to 25-30 per shift.
  • Review and maintain safety-related documentation.
  • Must clearly communicate safety messages, prepare and facilitate safety meetings, and communicate lessons learned.
  • Must be able to audit competency training.
  • Must participate in leadership site safety reviews and worksite observation.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally in stressful situations with both client and ClearWater team members.
  • Must be familiar with industrial safety management systems.
  • High School minimum (or equivalent) with other college or University diploma or certificate preferred.
